General Luna Fiesta

The fiesta is a cultural and religious event of great importance in the Philippines. A mix of Christian rites and a non-religious celebration takes place during these 2-day events. Every village has its own fiesta, and they consist of lots of eating, processions, and parades carried out by the town locals. The General Luna Fiesta is held on the last week of September.

Surf Competition

Cloud 9 is a famous wave famous for its right-hand barrels. Its quality and consistency earned the wave a place in the World Surf League qualifying series as well as local surf competitions. The contests usually last for about a week, depending on swell conditions. The Siargao National Surfing Cup is usually scheduled for September, succeeded by the WSL International Surfing Cup, which is held from late October to November. Unless you are a contestant please don’t attempt to surf Cloud 9 during a competition heat—although you wouldn’t be the first! Instead join in on the fun at the boardwalk, where you get the best views of the action.

Sundown Fridays

There’s no better way to end a surf-filled week than at Bravo on a Friday. Skate Jam

Held monthly at Bravo Beach Resort, the Skate Bowl Jam brings together local and visiting skaters for an open session of community, creativity, and fun. The event includes runs, contests, and prizes—plus a lively crowd and DJ sets. It’s part of Bravo’s commitment to supporting board sports and local youth culture on the island. Fishing Competition

Siargao is the game fishing capital of the Philippines, due to its proximity to the second deepest ocean trench in the world and the vast Pacific Ocean. Every year, the small port town of Pilar on the east coast of Siargao hosts the International Sport-fishing Tournament.

The competition draws in competitors from around the world. The tournament lasts 4 days, and it is held from the end of April to the beginning of May. Make the 15 km trip north to Pilar to catch the action.
